The book is a treasured volume if not a sacred text of a people of faith.
The quill is an instrument for writing and inserting the stories from our people between the lines of our biblical text (adding to the Acts book of our Bibles) and to our reference library in our archives.
The clasp on the volume is a sign of our safe-guarding and sealing them up for posterity - locking them up in the archives' vault.
The pie piece shapes above the quill nib represent our part of the world globe - Alberta and the other provinces of Canada and the feathered out tail of the pen touching and inviting the rest of the world.
